Dressage Demonstration by Anne Cizadlo at Otter Creek Farm, Alburnett, IA.

Anne will give a dressage demonstration riding Keenan Moon, a 16.1 hand Thoroghbred/Saddlebred/Connamara Pony gelding owned by Lois Pienkos of Central City, IA on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 as part of a meeting for the Eastern Iowa Dressage and Eventing Association. Keen was in training with Anne for 4 months this winter in Florida, and his owner, Lois, was taking lessons for the majority of that time.
 
Anne will go through a standard daily training workout for a lower level dressage horse and explain the pieces of the program and how they both solidify the "basics" that all horses need to practice on a daily basis as well as show how the process can slowly progress into more and more difficult work as the horse strengthens and advances. Keen is approximately at Second Level, although still needs more practice on some of the Second Level movements and has advanced in some areas to the Third Level movements. Anne will explain and show where the horse started and how he has slowly progressed through a standard "curriculum" for dressage horses. The process/curriculum is an important aspect of training horses and one that each rider should have fairly solid in their head before starting the journey of  training a horse!

From I380, take US Hwy 30 East/US 151 North to Kirkwood Blvd. Turn South on Kirkwood Blvd SW. You will pass the main campus entrance. Turn left into the South Entrance and left into the parking area. Iowa Hall will be towards the northeast.
